LVMH THE FILM,2008

This is Louis Vuitton's promotional film from the holding company LVMH. Louis Vuitton as one of the oldest fashion houses in the world, founded in 1854, sells its products strictly through its own retail stores and online holders through fashion accounts. Through marketed comparison Louis Vuitton has been seen to primarily compete with Versace, Gucci, Chanel, Armani, Prada and similar luxury/couture fashion brands. In fact the Louis Vuitton house consist of these brands, Belvedere, Fendi, Givenchy, Sephora, DKNY, Dom Perignon, Tag Heuer, Hennessy, De Beers, Dior, and many more. Louis Vuitton is known to do collaborations with other artist and designers and Marc Jacobs is their art director. This video is collective visual of their empire.

The song is called Clubbed To Death by Rob Dougan.

Enjoy.

FILTHY LUCRE

"Congratulations, America: Even as our currency continues to falter, it takes home top honors in at least one category—having the highest amounts of trace cocaine of any bills on the planet. This according to a new study by those party guys at Trends in Analytical Chemistry, which found traces of the drug on nearly every bill in circulation in every country. It bears noting that currency in Germany and Ireland showed significantly lower concentrations, presumably because their citizens prefer their countries' native liquid vices."

SONY FILM CLASSIC: PERSEPOLIS

I was very much skeptical on watching an animated foreign film in black and white for approximately 50% of the view time, it brought back too many memories of the animated television series of Madeline. Though skeptical of the film, at first, my initial views were swayed by my girlfriends persuasiveness. I try to be opened minded about things and it may of appeared to be hard to attend to at first glance but it was worth it. The film, Persepolis, is a 2007 animation based on Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical graphic novel sharing the title. The film was written and directed by Satrapi with Vincent Paronnaud, french comic artist. The story follows a young girl, Marji, as she comes of age against the sceneries of turmoil during the Iranian Revolution, circa 1980. The Revolution takes a turn for the worst with Islamic fundamentalists, the beliefs held by those in movement, taking power and creating a new tyrannic theocracy themselves. The story concludes with Marji as a matured young expatriate of Iran. I give this film an 8/10.

ETHYL

-The buffer between reality and a good night. Has been known to make people seem more attractive and make obviously stupid idea's seem like good sense.

-I ended up being completely sober tonight reading news articles that I usually forget about. This one caught my attention mainly because it was a topic I would definitely partake in festivities for tonight. I read about a board of college presidents from about 100 of the best-known U.S. universities, including Duke, Dartmouth and Ohio State, that are calling on lawmakers to consider lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18, arguing that current laws actually encourage dangerous binge drinking on campus, word? The movement called the Amethyst Initiative began quietly recruiting presidents more than a year ago to provoke national debate about the U.S. drinking age, which is among the highest in the world. The Amethyst Initiative concluded that because the drinking age is that high the probability of under aged drinking is increased and the amount of alcohol under aged drinkers consume is higher because it is illegal, influencing the need to take advantage of whats available. I'm all for being able to get a legal alcohol at my age considering I'm 18 and a sophomore in college. For the majority my age, lowering the drinking age to 18 would influence a younger demographic, highschool. I only fear that the majority of underaged drinking cases, once the age is lowered, will be reported in deaths and accidents. Until then il decide to advocate. :]

GNARLS BARKLEY- WHO'S GONNA SAVE MY SOUL

Awesome video directed by Chris Milk. Some may not be connotative to the theme of this video and some may be empathic towards it. It does show more video to the point than music, besides that, it is considerably good. Take the time to view and enjoy.

BEAUTIFUL DECAY

I remember Beautiful Decay magazines from 2 years ago when we were just putting our own ideas together. Their definitive art and design publication gave us the motivation and creativity to express our own work, even when we had little knowledge in design programs and getting our name out . The magazine and online articles were our first exposure sourcebook that revealed innovation, talent, the DO's and DONT's, and learning the market. They hold up their name well with a vast creative content and most importantly, QUALITY CONTROL.

Lykke Li- Little Bit

Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson born on March 18, 1986, better known by her stage name, lykke li is a Swedish indie singer. She had some success with the EP "Little Bit" in 2007. Stereogum named her an artist to watch in October 2007 and described her music as a mix of soul, electro and powdered-sugar pop. Im new to this particular artist, after seeing the music video and listening to the soft melodic tones and vocally ambient rhythm it was something to introduce. Enjoy

BANKSY

For those unware of who Banksy is, I dont know either. Banksy is a well-known psuedo-anonymous graphitti artist from britain. The son of a photocopier engineer, he trained as a butcher but became involved in graffiti during the great Bristol aerosol boom of the late 1980s also the decade when graphitti was at it ascent. His artworks are often-satirical pieces of art on topics such as politics, culture, and ethics. His art has appeared in cities around the world. He does not sell photos of street graffiti or mount exhibitions of screenprints in commercial galleries. There has been false news of his capture and his identity is still unknown.

MR. CARTOON

Permanent markings made by inserting ink into the layers of skin to change the pigment for decorative and/or other reasons. Art on humans is considered to be a type of decorative body modification to many. Practiced worldwide through media, gangs and cultural tradition, in our society it is still taboo. Most recently there has been some prevalence in the tattoo industry. Teens as the rising social demographic have the ability to influence what is acceptable in the perspective of our higher society. It is seen as fashionable, self expressive and least likely to be influenced by trend. Having permanence, to me tattoos are as deep as personal preeminence goes. Here are pictures of the work from a tattoo artist who is very influential to the industry, Mr. Cartoon.

CREATIVE RECREATION

Creative Recreation was officially launched in Orange County, California in the fall of 02. The three founders of Creative Recreation Noticed a huge void in the footwear market. Everyone was either offering a dress shoe to be worn with a suit or shoes of an athletic template that did not cater to a higher lifestyle. Nobody in the footwear market was offering young professionals stylish daily footwear.Realizing that this generation was not going to follow in the same footsteps as the one before them. Creative Recreation began their journey. Being successful in this generation did not require wearing a suit and tie rather it was just the opposite. Their image of our generation was to be in more control of our destiny and careers. This genre has become known for its entrepreneurial drive. Along with this came freedoms of fashion in the work place and in other social settings. With these inspirations behind them, Creative Recreation set out to fill this void the three founders simply set out to design shoes that they wanted to wear. Creative Recreation is now retailed by Barneys NYC, Bloomingdales, Memes and the list continues with international retailers as well.

PETER GRONQUIST SOLO SHOW

Peter Gronquist faux-designer weaponry art exhibition, titled "The revolution will be fabulous: A weapons of mass designer show" took place in LA at the 1988 gallery. I'm not really a fan of designer goods or trademarks implemented into usual items, for example Louis Vuitton(loo-E-vo-WE-ton) and Gucci(GOO-chi) faux-monograms being used on fake Nike's. I can appreciate this event for its use of real weaponry and level of quality. Some have interpreted this show as a symbol of anti-consumerism and revolutionary. I can only say the most harm or slightly negative influence would be the humor of these high designer labels on now inoperable weapons. These pieces were also for sale after the exhibition.

ZEITGEIST

Zeitgeist, the documentary is a 2007 film, produced by Peter Joseph about the Jesus hypothesis, the attacks of 9/11, and the Federal Reserve Bank as well as a number of conspiracy theories related to those three main topics. I know this documentary is old but it still holds controversial values that question effective goverment policies and religious concepts. I wanted to post the remastered full version for archive sake. I'm not a believer in every political and scientific conspiracy but this is insightful. It contains links to every reference of evidence . It is exigent that everyone who has not seen this documentary should see it and of course those who have are entitled to their own opinion, beliefs and traditions. Aimer'.

RESIDUALS

I usually dont critique the work or productions of musicians and/or hip hop artist but finally I feel someone has ascended from the trend Lil Wayne has keep many of us auditorily
addicted to. In his ninth album, Nas has recently released the Untitled album previously known as the N**GER album. Although the previous title had rising controversy, reviews for the album have been generally very positive. Entertainment Weekly credited the album for its maturity as well as the album's ability to keep the listeners guessing. Andy Greenwald credits Nas, saying "In a summer of 'Lollipop', it's good to hear a complicated record that doesn't shy from grown-up ambition."
The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album charts selling 187,078 copies in the first week of release. The album also did moderately well in other countries, charting in Ireland and the UK.

I never completely understood or grasped any concept of what Lil wayne was rapping about in any song of his extensive line of mix tapes to albums. It is very obvious in the Untitled album that there is poetry and lyrical message that brings maturity to the table.
