Permanent markings made by inserting ink into the layers of skin to change the pigment for decorative and/or other reasons. Art on humans is considered to be a type of decorative body modification to many. Practiced worldwide through media,gangs and cultural tradition, in our society it is still taboo. Most recently there has been some prevalence in the tattoo industry. Teens as the rising social demographic have the ability to influence what is acceptable in the perspective of our higher society. It is seen as fashionable, self expressive and least likely to be influenced by trend. Having permanence, to me tattoos are as deep as personal preeminence goes.
