ETHYL

-The buffer between reality and a good night. Has been known to make people seem more attractive and make obviously stupid idea's seem like good sense.

-I ended up being completely sober tonight reading news articles that I usually forget about. This one caught my attention mainly because it was a topic I would definitely partake in festivities for tonight. I read about a board of college presidents from about 100 of the best-known U.S. universities, including Duke, Dartmouth and Ohio State, that are calling on lawmakers to consider lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18, arguing that current laws actually encourage dangerous binge drinking on campus, word? The movement called the Amethyst Initiative began quietly recruiting presidents more than a year ago to provoke national debate about the U.S. drinking age, which is among the highest in the world. The Amethyst Initiative concluded that because the drinking age is that high the probability of under aged drinking is increased and the amount of alcohol under aged drinkers consume is higher because it is illegal, influencing the need to take advantage of whats available. I'm all for being able to get a legal alcohol at my age considering I'm 18 and a sophomore in college. For the majority my age, lowering the drinking age to 18 would influence a younger demographic, highschool. I only fear that the majority of underaged drinking cases, once the age is lowered, will be reported in deaths and accidents. Until then il decide to advocate. :]

GNARLS BARKLEY- WHO'S GONNA SAVE MY SOUL

Awesome video directed by Chris Milk. Some may not be connotative to the theme of this video and some may be empathic towards it. It does show more video to the point than music, besides that, it is considerably good. Take the time to view and enjoy.

BEAUTIFUL DECAY

I remember Beautiful Decay magazines from 2 years ago when we were just putting our own ideas together. Their definitive art and design publication gave us the motivation and creativity to express our own work, even when we had little knowledge in design programs and getting our name out . The magazine and online articles were our first exposure sourcebook that revealed innovation, talent, the DO's and DONT's, and learning the market. They hold up their name well with a vast creative content and most importantly, QUALITY CONTROL.

Lykke Li- Little Bit

Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson born on March 18, 1986, better known by her stage name, lykke li is a Swedish indie singer. She had some success with the EP "Little Bit" in 2007. Stereogum named her an artist to watch in October 2007 and described her music as a mix of soul, electro and powdered-sugar pop. Im new to this particular artist, after seeing the music video and listening to the soft melodic tones and vocally ambient rhythm it was something to introduce. Enjoy

BANKSY

For those unware of who Banksy is, I dont know either. Banksy is a well-known psuedo-anonymous graphitti artist from britain. The son of a photocopier engineer, he trained as a butcher but became involved in graffiti during the great Bristol aerosol boom of the late 1980s also the decade when graphitti was at it ascent. His artworks are often-satirical pieces of art on topics such as politics, culture, and ethics. His art has appeared in cities around the world. He does not sell photos of street graffiti or mount exhibitions of screenprints in commercial galleries. There has been false news of his capture and his identity is still unknown.

MR. CARTOON

Permanent markings made by inserting ink into the layers of skin to change the pigment for decorative and/or other reasons. Art on humans is considered to be a type of decorative body modification to many. Practiced worldwide through media, gangs and cultural tradition, in our society it is still taboo. Most recently there has been some prevalence in the tattoo industry. Teens as the rising social demographic have the ability to influence what is acceptable in the perspective of our higher society. It is seen as fashionable, self expressive and least likely to be influenced by trend. Having permanence, to me tattoos are as deep as personal preeminence goes. Here are pictures of the work from a tattoo artist who is very influential to the industry, Mr. Cartoon.

CREATIVE RECREATION

Creative Recreation was officially launched in Orange County, California in the fall of 02. The three founders of Creative Recreation Noticed a huge void in the footwear market. Everyone was either offering a dress shoe to be worn with a suit or shoes of an athletic template that did not cater to a higher lifestyle. Nobody in the footwear market was offering young professionals stylish daily footwear.Realizing that this generation was not going to follow in the same footsteps as the one before them. Creative Recreation began their journey. Being successful in this generation did not require wearing a suit and tie rather it was just the opposite. Their image of our generation was to be in more control of our destiny and careers. This genre has become known for its entrepreneurial drive. Along with this came freedoms of fashion in the work place and in other social settings. With these inspirations behind them, Creative Recreation set out to fill this void the three founders simply set out to design shoes that they wanted to wear. Creative Recreation is now retailed by Barneys NYC, Bloomingdales, Memes and the list continues with international retailers as well.
